1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using pkglnk ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

pkglnk is a transparent, security-focused Git proxy that provides install analytics for Unity Package Manager (UPM) packages. The Service allows package maintainers to track installation metrics while maintaining user privacy.

3. Account Registration and GitHub Access

To use certain features of the Service, you must sign in using your GitHub account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

By signing in with GitHub, you grant us permission to access certain information from your GitHub account as described in our Privacy Policy, including:

• Your public profile information
• Your organization memberships
• Your public repositories (to detect Unity packages)

You can revoke this access at any time from your GitHub settings, though this may limit the functionality available to you on pkglnk.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Upload malicious code or content through registered packages
• Use the Service to distribute spam or malware
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
• Abuse the analytics system or generate fake install data
• Scrape or harvest data from the Service without permission

5. Package Registration

When you register a package with pkglnk:

• You must have the right to register the package (be the owner or authorized maintainer)
• The package must not contain malicious code or violate third-party rights
• Package information (name, description, repository URL) will be publicly visible
• You are responsible for keeping your package information accurate

6. Proxy Service

The pkglnk proxy:

• Operates as a read-only pass-through to upstream Git repositories
• Does not modify package contents (verified by Git's cryptographic hashes)
• May cache data to improve performance
• Logs anonymized analytics data as described in our Privacy Policy

7. API Usage

If you use our API, you must comply with our rate limits and API guidelines. API tokens are personal and should not be shared. We may revoke access for abuse or violation of these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by pkglnk and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Your packages remain your own intellectual property.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OF ANALYTICS DATA.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PKGLNK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless pkglnk and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause. You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict of law principles.
